Size of Painting: wider than A3

When I came across this square slice of Marri with the this gorgeous slanted rocky edge and scribbly gum vein feature, I grabbed it with delight.

I wanted to evoke a cool, watery feeling on top of this rustic, gnarled  wooden gem.

The roses from our garden were ripe for the picking and I bought a clear round vase so I could paint the vision that was in my head. Just a lovely cool, crisp bowl of water, with peachy roses bathing in it

If you love the feel of a Tuscan cottage and want to be reminded of fresh flowers on a hot day, this piece is for you.

Enjoy!

About the Artist:

Hi, I'm Evy!  I run the woodwork business with my partner Ivan and have been dreaming of adding some Original paintings to our website.

I kept finding the most dazzling pieces of timber under Ivan's work bench and decided to squirrel them away, so that one day I could paint on them and enjoy some creative time again.

Having painted and drawn all my life and then completing my Bachelor of Arts in Design in 1997, I painted on and off during my time as a freelance graphic designer and in my travels to Europe and Canada.

In 2003 I painted and designed 4 sets of Australian Christmas cards, which were sold in newsagencies and gift shops all over Perth, Bunbury and Albany.

Around 2010, we started the woodwork business and concentrated on raising our 3 beautiful  kids in the Perth Hills.

I'm heavily inspired by my natural surroundings, colour, love, music, comedy and uplifting moments.

I hope to communicate a 'feeling' though Art. Something that can be felt by the viewer and remind them of the good things in life.

I'm looking forward to adding more of my original paintings as time goes on.

Thanks for viewing, it means a lot!
