**** Please Note Prior to purchase ****
**** This shelf is made to order ****
The knots, grain and edge will differ from the picture.
Some edges may have no knots at all, so please consider this before purchase.
We only have a limited supply of this beautiful reclaimed timber.
It takes time to de-nail, plane down each piece and hand sand the edge.
Please appreciate that this takes time, preparation and a creative eye on each piece, thus it is more expensive in price due to its rarity and labour to refine.
If you prefer certain features, please email us and we'll do our best to find a suitable piece for you.
Some customers prefer the larger cracks to be filled and other people love lots of cracks for character - Let us know in the order notes so we are on the same page :)
The top of the shelf may be puttied in certain areas to make for easier wiping, but if you prefer no putty at all, please let us know in your order notes.
The well aged timber when milled back to life shows the light honey colour and oxidation that only comes into play when this type of timber ages over at least 60 years.
Each piece is individually milled and with this style of shelf, I have sanded to edge to show both the aged characteristics and fresh grain coming through.
Our floating shelves are suitable for brick walls and also gyprock.
If you have gyprock, the wall rods will need to drill into the timber wall studs.
(I can drill to match your stud spacing.)
You will need a stud finder to locate the studs.
Just send me a message with the spacings from center of stud to center of stud.
Australian Standard wall studs are 450mm - 600 mm apart
*PLEASE NOTE: Our hardware will not drill into metal studs.
Please check that your studs are not metal, prior to purchase :)
