About the Painting:

I found this lovely chunk of Marri with beautiful naturaI edges coming through at the top and bottom of the piece. It reminded me of salty driftwood.

At the time we had a flush of peach coloured roses in the garden, so with roses on my mind, I painted this little piece, really enjoying the contrast between the sandy coloured timber and the fresh peach and lime of this newly formed rose.

I hope this chunky little piece brightens up a corner of your room and adds a bit of beachy sparkle to your day.

About the Artist:

Hi, I'm Evy!  I run the woodwork business with my partner Ivan and have been dreaming of adding some Original paintings to our website. 

I kept finding the most dazzling pieces of timber under Ivan's work bench and decided to squirrel them away, so that one day I could paint on them and enjoy some creative time again.

Having painted and drawn all my life and then completing my Bachelor of Arts in Design in 1997, I painted on and off during my time as a freelance graphic designer and in my travels to Europe and Canada.

In 2003 I painted and designed 4 sets of Australian Christmas cards, which were sold in newsagencies and gift shops all over Perth, Bunbury and Albany.

Around 2010, we started the woodwork business and concentrated on raising our 3 beautiful  kids in the Perth Hills.

I'm heavily inspired by my natural surroundings, colour, love, music, comedy and uplifting moments.

I hope to communicate a 'feeling' though Art. Something that can be felt by the viewer and remind them of the good things in life.

 I'm looking forward to adding more of my original paintings as time goes on.
